In this presentation, we will share insights on why multicultural policy has been so readily accepted as part of the Canadian national narrative and how it serves as further distraction from kinship teachings regarding the sacred enmeshment of all forms of life. 

​

Dr. Dwayne Donald is a descendent of the amiskwaciwiyiniwak and the Papaschase Cree and is an associate professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta. His work focuses on ways in which Indigenous wisdom can expand and enhance our understandings of curriculum and pedagogy.

 

Dale Saddleback is Doctoral Student under the supervision of Dr. Donald. 5th generation Treaty #6 nehiyaw napew with interests in the development and implementation of Indigenous Curricula.
