Shelby LaFramboise is a Michif iskwew originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Shelby is the proud mother of three teenage children, Halle, Jesse, and Jordyn. She holds a Master's from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Education, Elementary Education in the area of language and literacy. Her research interests have included social justice perspectives and Indigenous perspectives in Canadian curriculum and how Canadian teachers delve into these practices. Shelby is passionate about writing through her familial lens storied with the connection to land, place, and space. Shelby has been a long time educator and has worked as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta - area of language and literacy, secondary education, and policy studies. She is currently an independent educational consultant and writes curriculum and rendezvous with great hearts and minds. Shelby is grateful and appreciative of her helpers, compadres and chums. What an exciting time to align with one another.
